   Astro Buddy

   Pretty nice so far. Going to use it for astrophotography. Stellarium app looks good on it. Can control my mount/rig with it. Be sure to watch some tips & tricks videos out there, as there are a few things you can do with these tablets that isn’t in-your-face obvious. If your phone is straining your eyes and you don’t feel like lugging a laptop around, this thing falls in between.

    Excellent Tablet at an excellent price

    I got this for $140 on Prime day. How do you beat that? The main reason I bought this is I was replacing a 10″ tablet that had lousy Bluetooth range. I couldn’t walk down the hall from my office to my bedroom without my headphones cutting out. This tablet has great BT range. I haven’t exceeded it yet.

    Tablet works great and is very easy to use!

    I have bought several of these tablets now for my family and they are really easy to use and setup. They are also plenty fast when using apps, watching YouTube, etc. Its also very easy to transfer all of your stuff over from either a phone or an older tablet. The tablet is slim and lightweight and the battery life is acceptable.

    Very happy with this unit

    I’ve had this a while now and I’m pretty happy with it. No complaints really. One of the coolest things about is battery life. That’s something I’ve been annoyed with – with other tablets is they get drained so fast, but this can last a surprisingly long time. Almost like a laptop could.I wasn’t looking for anything insane like for hardware specs, just something affordable, but it had to be something «zippy» and this fits the bill.Honestly all I do is play casino like apps and those story based apps on it and it works just like I need it to and not have issues with lag, or slow loading.Now I’m looking for a gift and considering to get this one again.So if you’re looking for a modest unit and don’t want one that annoys you with slow performance and has room to install some games, give this one a try.

    Great tablet

    I was looking for a tablet to read books on (Amazon unlimited) I have Verizon and looked there first, but it was more expensive, and I had to get a new phone line, and I didn’t need that, I just want it to download books. I looked here and found same tablet, lower price & I didn’t have to spend extra money on phone bill. Also, because it has Wi-Fi I can use it anywhere with Wi-Fi, and with hot spot on my phone. I due have a samsung galaxy phone and I can actual link them together. It does everything that a galaxy phone can do, even calls if your linked to your phone.So all in all it’s a great tablet for the $

    I tablet is really good super fast and look nice and feels nice I would say that the home button is kind of glitchy sometimes but the quality is amazing and the screen is very strong super scratch resistant easy to connect devices to the tablet and really light and I loved the color all around a good tablet but it didn’t come with a charger which I found kind of bad

    Great! Tablet takes a while to charge though. I feel like there are Wi-Fi. Receiver is kind of subpar though where other devices get Wi-Fi, This one does not. Also have a problem with subtle green pixels when screen is black. Not sure if that was from a drop or screen pressure. It’s not noticeable when something’s playing but you definitely see it when tablet is starting or other black screen areas. It’s great for gaming. Love the weight of it. Works great! Pretty fast.

    The tablet is fine. What’s not is how Amazon sent it. Just an unpadded brown envelope which was open on one side. !!!I’ve had records and cds come in oversized boxes with bubble wrap so why not this?? Ridiculous.

    Good reliable tablet

    This is my first Samsung Galaxy tablet and its performance is smooth, polished and reliable. But I’d give it 4 and 1/2 stars if I could. I hate the keyboard. When you want to use emojis, hand gestures, animals and all that — it’s divided up into separate sections instead of one page. So when you want to access say a hand gesture instead of a face, you have to press a button at the top of the keyboard to get to it. And if there isn’t a symbol for what you want at top of the keyboard, you have to hit the search to find it. I find this very inconvenient. After all the fuss I’ve heard about Samsung Galaxy, I can’t believe how small and clumsy this keyboard is. Charging takes awhile, so I’m using a block — plugging it into the wall seems to improve the speed of the recharge. The charger cable that comes with it is very short and flimsy — so I’m using a sturdier cable I bought for it. Setup for this tab was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I was ordered to get an app in my Playstore called SmartSwitch in order to set it up. Google Setup has always worked fine for me with every other tab I’ve purchased, but I wasn’t allowed to use it with this one. It had to be SMART SWITCH or not at all, which required me to plunk out $7.50 with my credit card! And the setup was no better than Google and took a few hours besides. I paid extra and bought the 8gb version of this tablet because I’m a serious gamer and I must have speed. I used it constantly this past weekend during my online team tournament and it worked very smoothly with long lasting battery life. It’s been interesting to check out a Samsung Galaxy at last and it is a beautiful tablet well worth having.

    Perfect for what I needed it for

    I trust in Samsung products. Always top performance, crisp, vibrant screens. Pick up and go kind of devices. Not at all complicated. No, this did not come with a charging block.. but it’s that a deal breaker? Absolutely not. The multi charging cords (4 in 1 – containing C, lightening, micro USB &pad) are a necessity in my house and became a real game changer – so that’s what we use for 98% of our charging needs. The battery drains semi quick – but I have it on for hours while I study. Nothing overly dramatic. Great tablet at a super price.

    Best tablet for the price!

    I got the one with 8g ram & 128g storage. This is the best tablet I’ve ever used. I bought it to specifically play the game Asphalt Unite. Before, I was playing the game on my laptop that has an i5 processor, 8g ram, 225g SSD & a basic integrated GPU. It’s a decent laptop but it struggled to run the game smoothly. I had to set the graphics to the «very low» setting & it looked horrible & ran choppy. With this tablet, I can play the game set on the highest graphics setting & it looks & runs beautifully. It’s everything I wanted in a good laptop but for half the cost. It’s not a full fledge gaming tablet & it won’t run high consumption games at the highest settings, but it will play most games pretty well. It is the best tablet you will find at this price & it should work well far into the future.

    OK For The Price

    I got the 128 model on the Amazon sale a few days ago. The only reason I bought it was for traveling because I did not want to drag around my 2022 IPad Air and possibly lose, or mess up, a 500.00 tablet.So……like the headline states……it’s OK for the price. Not the retail price, but the sale price. Last year I bought the Fire 11 for the same reason, travel, but ended up returning it after a few days due to a price drop and Amazon refusing to offer a price match discount. Along those lines………..I tried my best and spoke to numerous people over an 8 month period but Amazon refused to return or credit the 70 or so I received from trading in two cheaper Amazon tablets when I bought the 11. I have been informed, over and over again by Customer Service, you lose the trade-in on a return. Now, I cannot find this ANYWHERE in the trade-in policy. But there it is so be forewarned.I would say both the tablets are very similar, with a slight edge maybe to the Samsung with the 8GB vs 4GB on the Fire. Neither are as smooth as the Air, but that is where the price difference comes in. When I bought this I believe the Fire was 199 and the A9+ was 209. For an additional 4GB of memory 10 bucks is good for me. Plus, I had no more available trade-ins for the 20% discount.As for the tablet itself….. The sound is fine, picture is fine, and I really prefer Google Apps as they just seem to have more of what I want. I imagine build quality is similar. Now for the apps…….Prime video was loaded, along with Peacock, Disney, MGM, HBO/Max, Paramount……all my streaming services with one glaring, if not unexpected, exception. Apple+ TV. I found an ITunes app, but no TV app. Maybe the Fire has it, I don’t know.I also loaded Samsung SmartSwitch which allowed me to sync info from my IPhone. No issues, worked well although it did take a minute using wireless connectivity.The tablet did not come with a plug as has been noted many times. I guess, you know, is it a big deal if you have other electronics? No. But if this was your only one…….I mean, really? Is that plug really saving all that much money off the list price? Some of these things the corporations do nowadays just seem silly/greedy.As far as charging goes, this seemed to be another hot topic. So, using an Apple 20W Fast Charger, the tablet went from 13% to 100% in about 2 1/2 hours. If I went USB-C only I would guess more than double that time would be required. I did make sure Fast Charge was on in the tablet…..it shipped that way.The battery did seem to wear down rather quickly, but not fast enough to return the tablet. The phone transfer was about 30 minutes, and all I did other than that was load Apps and change some settings for a few hours. This took me from 50 to 13%. How that compares to my Air, no idea. But it is acceptable.One thing I do not like…..and maybe I just need to try a bit harder…..I cannot figure out how to get Auto Blocker turned on. It’s right there in Settings, but greyed out as is two other advanced settings below it. I just keep seeing a spiral up top right like something is trying to load. Only thing I can figure out is if you have free apps loaded you cannot block the pop-ups or whatever.Wi-Fi hooked up right away so I did not bother trying my phones Hot Spot. Other than that, I see no issues with this tablet. At the right price, of course!

    Outstanding tablet in every respect – the best I have ever owned!

    Last April, I bought my Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ as a replacement for my old Windows 10 laptop which I will be forced to retire next year. I was wondering how well this tablet could serve as a laptop replacement, but I needn’t have worried. It does everything my old laptop does, and it does it much faster and much more efficiently. Needless to say, I am very pleased with this device.The things I like best about my Galaxy Tab A9+ tablet:1. The 11-inch screen is large enough for me to see clearly with my aging eyes. Colors are vivid, and the text is crisp and clear. I can make the text bigger whenever I need to.2. The sound is great! The tablet featores four speakers (two on eack end) that pump clean, crisp audio into my room.3. Processor speed is very fast. Apps open in just a few seconds (or less), and there is almost no lag between my screen tap and program execution.4. My tablet came with 128gb of storage and 8gb of RAM. I have had no issues with storage space or with slowed-down multitasking. I’ve had as many as 20 apps open in the background at the same time, with no noticeable lag.5. My tablet came with Android 13 and UI 6.0 unstalled, but both programs automatically updated to Android 14 and UI 6.1 within a month. These latest versions of these programs are outstanding.6. I bought my tablet with two key essential accessories: a Bluetooth keyboard and a heavy-duty tablet case/stand combination. (I am typing this review on the Bluetooth keyboard right now.) These accessories integrate perfectly with my Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ and help immeasurably in, making it an outstanding laptop replacement.I’m sure I could think of many more features I like, but you get the idea. This is one fantastic tablet – the best I have ever owned! Most highly recommended.

    Great tablet for the price!

    I was looking for a small tablet so I can watch shows and play light games on a bigger screen than my phone. This tablet is amazing for that. I feel no slowness or lag when using it, and I’m very happy with it so far!Only issue I notice, is when scrolling the apps screen side to side, I notice some screen tear from the high refresh rate. But when using any other app, I never see this issue. Other than that, this tablet is solid!

    Decent for the money

    The selling points for me on this tablet were price point, size and ease of use. I was looking for a tablet for simple needs that I could mostly use for zoom meetings, internet browsing and streaming movies and music. There is a spot to insert an SD card if you want more storage. Game apps run OK but this is not a tablet for a serious gamer. It’s a sincere to set up. I like that my phone translates to the tablet so it’s easy and familiar to use. I set it up through wifi sync with my phone but you can also use the cable and get a mirror of your phone with all your apps, settings and photos. The battery life is pretty good. I like to stream movies and music. Usually in a zoom meeting daily for a couple hours. Battery lasts all day. It suits my needs perfectly. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars is the camera. It takes great pictures in medium light but it has to be just right lighting for a good picture. The camera doesn’t come with a lot of settings to rectify that and there’s no flash. I mostly use my phone for photos anyway. Good little tablet for the value.

    Love it.

    It’s a little complicated for me due to my visual impairment, but I am quite camputer savvy. So I am donig very well wirh it. And, with a good stand and a blue tooth keybboard I’m good to go. It has froozen up on me a couple of times, nothing to be alarmed about yet. But so far so good otherwise. If it becomes a continous problem though I will return. I hope I won’t have to thogh. I really like it and it is a very good tablet.

Unfortunately it has forgotten my password and it was a major hassle because you have to reset the entire unit and it drops everything you have in it.     5g capable?

    So far the tablet works as intended. The kids love it. I however purchased this tablet because of its 5g capabilities and the tray has the Sim card slot blocked so it can’t have a Sim card put in. I haven’t taken it in to try adding service to it yet but I have a feeling they’re gonna tell me no.

    C type to C type garbage

    it’s a good tablet, just hate that it comes with a C to C USB cord. not everyone has a c type outlet. Doesn’t even come with a block adapter for the standard North American outlet. just a C to C, pin for the SD card tray, and manual. when buying this product, also have a spare Block adapter, and standard C type cord.

    The tablet is in good condition, easy to use, and has good battery life. It has a good sized screen. It came with a charger that needed an adapter to be attached before it could charge. I wish this was mentioned so one purchases them together. I ended up using my power bank to attach cable to charge the tablet.

    Works Great but…

    I was expecting the tablet to be a little more like… well… a tablet. What I got was a tablet-sized cell phone, LOL. I have no issues, though. It’s fast, responsive, and has good battery life, so I have no complaints. I will mention its weight is a bit heavy and can wear your wrists out when holding it to read books as such.

    Great value

    Honestly it’s hard to complain. Downsides are it’s a tad slow, definitely noticeable lag doing some things. Outside of that though, lightweight, 90hz, good resolution, 4 speakers that sound great, support for multi window that works pretty good, very little bloatware and a lot of Samsung software goodies.I would pay $30 more for some more ram but for basics it isn’t bad at all.

    Disable Google services.

    Not bad for the price. I use it as a KDs display using square. It felt pretty laggy or just like a slow refresh rate. I used chat got to direct me how to disable Google services which made a huge difference.

    Their good.

    And my 17 year old was never seen again…….But jokes aside. This has worked out great as a replacement for my daughter’s hand me down laptop. It’s a great value for the money. She has loved it so far. Got her a case/keyboard combo to go along with it and she is good to go! She is netflixin and facebookin up a storm!

    Tablet is great, video reviewer excellent, very helpful–but delivery instructions were confusing.

    The tablet is fine. IT WAS DELIVERED! Note to customers who are seniors and may not be particularly tech-savvy: this item required a password for the delivery person. While I understand and appreciate Amazon’s desire for secure delivery to customer, it was confusing to me to receive a Password that was not a word or any letters–it was a series of numbers, what I would have called a «code». So I told the delivery person I had not received a «password», and showed her my picture ID as proof it matched the label on the package–and my face matched the ID card. She handed it to me–delivery done–but the website says it was not delivered. I called Amazon’s customer service, hoping to avoid a «2nd attempt to deliver»… I’ve been a customer for years, the «password» requirement was new to me–it made the delivery process stressful for this 71-yr-old person. My purpose in writing this review is not to be critical–but simply to alert other seniors who may be confused by the password requirement. Thanks very much.

    A tablet that packs a punch

    Having been surrounded with budget tablets, I wanted something better.This came up on sale and definitely is worth a big upgrade to.I have the 128 GB / 8 GB variant and I highly highly recommend that you do get this version.Performance is amazing knowing it can multitask and have enough storage for apps and other media.I use my tablet to stream from Xbox game pass, watch streaming apps (I even have a tv tuner for it too).Day to day, it’s been a solid tablet with little to no slow downs.Only downside to this tablet is the lack of usb 3.0 connectivity to help transfer things faster from and to it.

    Great little tablet

    It didn’t come with an power adapter and the cable is type C to Type C so I couldn’t us it with the adapters I have which is the only reason I didn’t give ti 5 stars.I got this to replace my wife’s 8 year old Galaxy Tab and it’s quite an upgrade she never came close to using al the storage space of her old tablet so there was no reason to get anything other than the 64 GB version.Setup was a breeze since her phone and tablet are both Android, all we had to do was provide her login information and follow the prompts.

    Good solid tablet.

    I have been using this tablet for just over a month now. Overall, I find it a very well-built tablet. I have been using it to watch videos, and check emails. I have also been playing retro games. it connects to my Bluetooth game controller very well. I can emulate up to a Super Nintendo with no issues. some games on the GameCube work and others don’t. I am going to try PlayStation games next. I also have been using DEX mode and the tablet works great as a Chrome book. I hooked up a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I can use the tablet as a small laptop. As a linux system admin, I find that I can use putty and manage my linux servers from this tablet.Overall I am pleased with this tablet and it works quite well.

    Good enough

    The speakers on this thing – wow! Didn’t expect that from a tablet for sure. Works for my needs which is mainly browsing, and a couple of social media apps. The camera is simple, with no advanced features, but effective. Takes better portrait photos than my expensive Samsung phone with all the bells and whistles.Out of the box, it’s slow compared to my laptop, so there was a period of adjustment for me initially. My only concern is what speed would look like in a year or so of use. Other than that, happy with the purchase so far

    Good basic tablet

    I’ve been wanting a tablet for awhile for personal use such as watch videos, play games, and scroll social media. I have always been solely an Apple user but the iPads were out of my price range. I knew nothing about Samsung or the android operating system so I did a lot of research before ordering this tablet. It was incredibly affordable which initially made me skeptical, but the reviews seemed promising so I took the plunge and ordered. Immediately, I noticed the drastic difference between Apple and Samsung. It was a bit of a learning curve for me, but I just played around with the settings and quickly got the hang of it. Dare I say…as a 15 year Apple and iPhone user, I am very impressed with this tablet and am even considering making the switch to an android phone as well! The ability to customize is just amazing. You can customize just about every single aspect on this tablet. Designing my home screen was so fun, there’s so much creative opportunity! I can get every app that I have on my iPhone, minus the basic Apple apps which is fine! If you do have a Samsung phone, connecting it will be super easy. I was able to easily find how to do it while I was playing around in the settings. This tablet is very pretty and sleek, with a thin, light-weight build that will make traveling with it easy. The battery life is really good; a full charge will last me an entire day! I do notice that I have to restart it at least once every other day or else the operating system will really slow down. That’s a little annoying but it’s fine. Keep in mind how I mentioned in the beginning that I only use it for basic use anyway. If you are someone that needs more something more advanced, then I would suggest paying the extra money for something higher-quality. This tablet would be perfect for anyone who only needs the basics when it comes to tablets, or even kids as well!

    Easy set up

    I had a Samsung Galaxy a7 that this replaced. I couldn’t charge the a7 so changed the battery. That worked if I could get it to charge. Evidently I need a charging port replacement too. The a9+ is very nice, charges quickly but doesn’t last. I recharge up to 3 times a day. I use it for reading and just looking stuff up and playing solitaire before bed. I have it on battery saver etc, but if I read I keep it plugged in or after a short time the battery is drained. I do like it. I’m replacing the port on my old one so I can use it before bed only. I really like the a9+ but am a bit disappointed in how long battery lasts.

    What’s up with Bluetooth audio performance? Face tracking logon works very well.

    Samsung talks about video frame speed, but Bluetooth audio performance is severely lacking! While the overall Bluetooth performance has better sound than the best of their phones, performance is frustrating! The audio gaps occasionally on devices using Qualcomm APT-X Bluetooth and fails completely when LDAP is demanded from the driver. I now understand why a wired headphone jack is provided…there aren’t enough resources to do Bluetooth satisfactorily. My A9+ has Android 14 but it appears this tablet barely has enough resources to run it. Also, compared to my previous Galaxy Tab S6, maximum SD card size is limited to 1GB instead of 2GB. I put all my data on the SD card and only use the internal for apps and the operating system. This assures my data cannot be monitored by Google & Samsung. Also, it’s alot bigger than the 128GB internal storage which I use for the operating system and apps. These are the main bones of contention with the Galaxy Tab A9+While there is no fingerprint login on this tablet, the face tracking works remarkably well! Even in relatively low light, the tablet opens right up. If you are backlit however, the face tracking doesn’t work…that’s pretty much to be expected. For a screen that is not OLED, the image quality is quite good. Both cameras work nicely for videoconferencing and it takes reasonably good photos and video, something my Galaxy Tab S6 did not do well at all! Plays even 4K video I’ve shot with my Note 20 Ultra and Canon M50 nicely. Photos are reproduced very accurately.In conclusion I can say the following: Some of us don’t play video games, in fact I could care less for that. A tablet should have strong suits not only in video performance but audio as well. This A9+ seems to fall flat on it’s face in this area and I am somewhat disappointed by this! While it may be better than previous A series tablets, it’s not even close for even older S series tablets. Perhaps back to the drawing board?

    I love it! A9+ 128GB

    The size is great! The speakers are loud but clear sound and just click the dolby atmos sound enhancer and your set for music or movies or anything. Color screen looks great. The 8GB RAM makes everything run fast and smooth if you switch between apps or tasks it doesn’t slow down. Overall very happy with this tablet!

    Fantastic

    Fantastic little tablet to keep, I use it for emails at my desk as a fourth screen, and to watch the occasional video on it while I’m working. The screen refresh rate is a little slow and the charging seems spotty, particularly on wich outlet/cable you use. Furthermore, the cable included is shorter than it should be.
