Astoundingly good printer for the cost.

I am absolutely amazed at the quality of this printer. I have 2 MakerGear M2s with upgraded Hotends (about $3K each when I bought them), and this Ender creates prints that are almost as clean. I bought this machine for my 14yo daughter to experiment with. She’s been spending alot of time using the PRUSA printers in her schools Maker Space, and I want to encourage her to get deeper into it. There’s a little learning curve with the included Slicer app (which is terrible), but once she figured out how to work with it, she was off and running. Supposedly, there’s a way to directly connect it to a PC, but she’s using the SD Card to sneaker-net the GCODE files from her computer to the Ender. Works fine. The attached Controller is easy to work with, and has enough settings available to manage prints reasonably well. The only complaint I have is that the Print Time Estimator algorithm is awful. Really innacurate. But, otherwise it’s solid. In fact, we had a power failure 3 hours into a 10 hour print, and the controller recognized the unsheduled stop, and was able to resume printing with no visible artifacts on the objects. My MakerGears would freak if that happened. Additionally, I love the flexible magnetic bed. Popping finished prints off the bed is ridiculously easy. My M2s are glass, and can sometimes be a real PITA when removing prints.Seriously, you cannot find a better starter printer for 2x this price.

Perfect for beginners who want more print room

I’m 100% new to 3d printing. I heard about it in like 2014, saw the prices of printers and immediately dismissed it as a «rich thing for rich people» (dropping 2-3k on a machine that made really poor looking 3d prints wasn’t feasible for a college student). I looked at it on a complete whim recently and was shocked to see printers going for this cheap with filament around $20 a roll. I really was setting sights on an Ender 3. Everyone said it’s just a great starter one to have. However I saw someone say «if you have a bit more money, just go with a CR-10). I liked a lot that had too, but ultimately didn’t see the point when the CR10s had the filament runout detection and power restart function. I haven’t tried the latter, the first I have seen work.To anyone having issues, let me explain my problems and how I solved them.Instructions not clear? Watch numerous videos on youtube on setting it up. Don’t follow one guy. See what like 3 or 4 people have to say about how to get the printer built in the first place. What should you print first? Bed alignment squares from thingiverse. That site will quickly become a favorite of yours and any of those options are great. There’s a 6 minute video on youtube that shows how you can use that test to tell if you need to lower/raise your bed and which corner needs it.Print not sticking? This was a killer for me. I nearly returned it because I couldn’t get anything to stick. So this is a tricky one. The glass surface that comes with nearly all printers is warped. Go to a hardware store and get a box of 12″x12» mirror tiles (I got 6 for like $10 at lowes). Get a bottle of 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. This clears the print surface absolutely of any oils from your hands and any debris. I got a cheap little spritz bottle, remove the glass bed, and just spray it down then wipe with a paper towel. It works great. That works for basic small scale prints. The best luck (that I’ve printed larger things with) is outright Aqua Net hair spray. I have a separate small box with a bit of padding from the printer, I remove the bed, and spray it down with 3-4 layers of Aqua Net. After it’s dry (about 5 minutes) I remove it and put it on the heating bed. That’s gotten my best results. When it’s done printing, take the heated glass bed (with print still attached) off and just set it on a cool (NOT cold) surface and it’ll come off after a good few minutes.I’ve got the bed leveled, what should I print now?Calibration cube. Make sure the X Y and Z are perfect. After that, give Benchy a try. What are my settings? I have great luck with a bed temp of 45-50 (50 typically). I set my base print temp at 210 and every other layer at 205. There are tests to see what temp your filament works best on, and all filaments aren’t equal. So take it with a grain of salt. Those are just my «I want this thing printed and I’m not in it for perfection» settings.Slight bit of stringiness? Get an exacto knife and remove it. Couple bumps and very slight uneven edge (or sharper edge)? Dollar tree sandpaper pack, you get a lot of high grits (which is what you want) and just take it off.3D printing is a fun art hobby. This is something you don’t rush. It’s easy to get into, but there’s so much to learn with nozzles, print temps, speeds, fills, supports…it’s a lot to master. It’s just complex. This printer does great work and has a huge surface that I wanted (you can get upgrade kits for the ender 3, but one to fit this size cost about as much as this and require more work).

    Nothing but trouble

I ran 2 ender 3 pros for 5 years and all I had to do was replace 1 fan on one machine. I ran this for 6 months and at the 6 month mark its been nothing but chaos for weeks. Heat creep that nothing will remedy, extrusion problems like no other. And that little bowden tube between the nozzle and extruder is nothing but a nightmare. When it runs smooth there is nothing like it. Nice smooth prints. But those are far and few between so its time to move on to another brand. So many hours wasted adjusting and fiddling and wasting materials not to mention the frustration just to get 0 results. Oh, and endless hours reading blogs and posts and try this and try that. Ill try someting else, thanks.

    What’s not to like!?

After using An Anet A8 for yrs., I decided to step up a bit and I am very pleased with this printer. It went right together with no hassle, and after the initial set-up, it took right off and was printing great! The fit and finish are very nice and the wiring is done well. The auto level worked great as did everything else. The screen is easy to read and use. The 1st two prints look good and I’m looking forward to many more. Everything was adjusted correctly from the factory, I did not have to change anything. I recommend this to newbies and anyone looking for a good second printer… So after a month of use, I am very pleased with this printer. There have been a few minor problems, mostly operator errors. I have had to do nothing to it except auto level and a touch of grease were needed.

Great starter machine with good upgradeability

To premise, I am somewhat new to 3D printing (~6 months). I have professional experience on Makerbot Replicator+ and Raise3D Pro2. This is the third machine I have printed things with. I purchased this machine for personal use.I purchased this on 7-23-19, it came with a filament run-out sensor and holder, larger bed adjustment wheels, and heater bed cable strain relief. These are common things people add to the other versions of this printer.Assembly:Assembly was not bad. The instructions are adequate to get the machine together and up and running. Just make sure you route your cabling so nothing will be caught on the frame or tangled when the gantry moves. I spent some time going over every single bolt on the machine, making sure they were tight. There were a couple of loose bolts but other wise everything was good. The bed was very loose on the extrusion. I had to flip the bottom assembly over and adjust the bed wheels to be tighter (closer together). You could twist the bed about 0.25″ left to right before adjusting the guide wheels. That being said, the stamped wrench they give you does not fit the nuts very well. It would be wise to use a better fitting wrench so you don’t strip the nuts.Bed leveling was fairly simple. Adjust each corner screw until you have the right gap. I used a feeler gauge. I think it was 0.1mm at a tight fit is what worked best for me. You can use the manual level through the menu. Triple check your leveling, especially check all corners even if you adjust only one. The center of my plate is slightly bowed downward. I will be buying a new mirror instead of the glass it came with.Use:I’ve been using printers that all have web connectivity and came with their own slicing software so this one took me a minute to figure out what exactly I needed to get it working. I started off by printing the dog test print from the SD card it came with. While doing that I downloaded Cura. They have a profile for this printer in the slicing software and it is free. Cura works similar to all the other slicers out there so it wasn’t much of a change. The dog came out great. The out of box quality was very impressive.Spend some time on Thingiverse. There are a lot of additional «upgrades» people have come up with for these machines. I printed the Z-axis support mounts, standalone filament spool holder, and cable chains to keep the cables from rubbing on the frame. I have had some issues with tall prints being knocked over, but the Z-axis supports will likely solve this problem.Since I received this machine I have been running it almost non-stop. I think it’s been not printing a total of 16 hours in a 120 hour period. I am currently running Superfila through it and it seems to print wonderfully. I have a lot of upgrade plans for this machine and I like that I can easily customize it to my use. So far it was been relatively trouble free and I have only had to adjust the bed twice in the beginning. I am amazed that a machine of this caliber is this cheap. I got this on sale when it was $380 and it is about 80% of what my other two machines offer at a tenth the price.

Simple to set up, amazing print quality after a little tuning. Does have thermal runaway.

No se pudo cargar el archivo multimedia.

While I am fairly familiar with 3D printers, this is my first. Creality makes some of the most popular budget 3D printers – there’s even 2 subs on Reddit (Creality and CR10), and the CR-10S and Ender 3 are both listed in the recommended models for hobbyist grade printers. As a result. there’s a huge community of users, lots of upgrades, tons of YouTube videos to answer any questions. The CR-10S came *very* well packaged – even though the box had seen some rough handling, everything inside was perfect. It took perhaps 30 minutes total to set everything up. Then I found an issue – the print head carriage was quite wobbly on the X-Rail. One YouTube video later I found the eccentric adjuster, but concluded that the plate was actually a bit curved – I assume this happened when they pressed the nuts into the back side. Fortunately it was really only about 10 minutes to remove the part and flatten it, after which it fit perfectly. I also tightened 2 eccentric nuts on the Y-axis. The X and Y belts were plenty tight so no other adjustments needed. In zeroing the plate, I found that there is interaction between the adjusters. What this means is that you need to go through them several times in order to get the plate truly flat. Total time now was perhaps an hour or so. I spent perhaps another 15 minutes disconnecting and reconnecting the wires so that they were bundled in a nice, neat manner, then I was ready to print. The CR-10S comes with a small roll of PLA, and the included Micro USB has a G-Code file for a «Maneki-Neko» cat. You can get anything as a STL file, but you need to convert it to G-Code with a slicer, and I was impatient. This printed out perfectly (see pictures) Very impressed with the print quality. The CR-10S includes some colored plastic trim to decorate the rails. As it turns out, you can’t install this on the left Z rail and the X rail as there are screws that will interfere. Not a big deal, but they should have made the plastic trim just another couple of mm lower so this wasn’t an issue.Overall, very impressed. One thing to consider is that this printer uses a Bowden tube so printing elastomeric material is an issue.

Amazing after receiving the second one

I ordered this printer a few weeks ago. The first one that arrived didn’t work immediately. Protruder wasn’t working. The seller tried to convince me to send videos so they could send parts but I sent the whole thing back. They asked me to consider the seller perspective. I asked them to consider the buyer perspective of spending a decent amount of money and having an expectation of the product working. I didn’t buy a new printer to have to swap parts. I ordered my second one of the same printer last week and this one immediately worked and I’m having so much fun. Good quality. Easy use. I’m glad I gave it a second chance but my first one was definitely a lemon.

Good printer, large build volume. Good for PLA with stock setup.

I ordered this printer in April 2018. This is not my first printer, so I am familiar with 3d printing and have been at it for several years. I decided to get this printer because I heard a lot of positive things about it, and it has a large build area.Overall this printer is pretty good for the price. I would recommend it, except for one critical issue (that I am hoping is remedied). The printer that I received has a «fatal flaw» because of a bad capacitor on the motherboard. The 5v regulation on the motherboard has a high ripple. This is because Creality used the wrong type of capacitor on the most recent motherboards (v2 and v2.1). What this means: you will see the temperature reading vary from 3-5 C when you are printing, and even a bit (1-2C) when you are sitting idle. When printing under 220, the printer will still print ok, though you may see some variation in your layers due to the temperature oscillation. Another real concern is when you try to print above 230C (which is required for filaments like ABS or PETG) . My board can’t even heat over 230 C because of this capacitor issue. If you google «CR 10S temperature issue» you can learn more about this.I am attempting to get a replacement board from the seller who I bought through on Amazon. They have asked me for a video of the problem. The seller claims to be in touch with the manufacturer (Creality) so I am hopeful I’ll get a replacement. If I do get a replacement board, I will come back and update my review. I’m hoping this issue gets resolved, and I believe Creality will eventually start shipping printers with the correct capacitor, possibly in version 2.2 once that is released. My recommendation would be to double check that the issue has been resolved before buying this printer, unless you only plan on printing PLA or don’t mind the hassle of getting a replacement board and opening up the case.Apart from the above issue, the printer is very good. The quality of prints are excellent even with the stock hot end/extruder. I’ve successfully printed PLA, Flex (TPU), and TPEE. You can also do a lot of small upgrades that will make the printer work a lot better. For example: add a Capricorn tubing so you can print flexible filaments easier. You can also upgrade to a «drop in» all metal extruder like a microswiss or a genuine e3d v6 (custom mounts are required) if you want to print higher temp filaments. I also recommend getting a nice build surface, like BuildTak. I picked up a 3 pack of «Athorbot» build sheets, which is just like BuildTak, but a lot cheaper- it is working great.People have reported issues with warped glass beds. My glass bed turned out to be fine. I used a dial indicator gauge to check my bed for variation, and it was quite flat. If your bed is not flat, you can get a 6 pack of mirror tile (12×12″) for very cheap as a replacement. One other thing that I’d like to point out is around safety. I don’t recommend printing over 210 C with the stock setup. This is because the PFTE tube (bowden tube) goes all the way into the hot end, through the heat block right up to the nozzle. This design is actually really good for constraining the path of the filament, but unfortunately that has a dangerous side effect. After 210C, the PFTE tube will begin to release toxic gasses that can be harmful to pets (especially pet birds). After 240 C the stock PFTE will deform and cause you printer to jam. Capricorn tubing will allow you to print up to 300C, but you will still have toxic off gassing. If you are just printing PLA, the stock setup is great. If you want to do much more than that (PETG, ABS, Flexibles, etc.) you should consider upgrading, and will need to make sure you have a good motherboard.Update: a few weeks after I requested a replacement board, the seller was able to send me one. I’m very pleased and the issue I had is no longer a problem! Raised my review to 5 stars because everything seems to be working great now.

    Software

The printer works fine. Creality Print software does not work on their own printer… Let alone finding out it is using an old header name thus making it outdated even with updating the latest firmware from their own web page. The printer works for what it is. However, given how much I had to learn and all the issues from the software, I would not recommend a new user. The only slicer program that works at this time because it uses the correct python header is Ultimaker Cura, so if you do buy it. I just saved you a ton of headaches and time.Update: Got a Nebula pad kit to see if that would fix the issues described above and continued to use the SE. I still love the printer and still do not think it is for beginners. However, in combination with having some experience in the field and using the Nebula pad, I feel like I was harsh on my first review but still think Creality can do better. Again, the printer works great but the software needs to be worked on for the Creality ecosystem to thrive.

Great printer, just buy your own printing bed.

Great printer! Got it assembled in 20 minutes, and it works right out of the box. Prints amazing and is super fast too. Not too noisy, but definitely don’t want to sleep in the same room as it. Only problem I had is that the build plate it comes with is very cheap, wrecked mine on the second day trying to clean it with some acetone. Would recommend buying another build plate along with it. 4 stars!

When I got the printer initially, it worked without any issues. 2 months in, and all I could really print were bookmarks. 3 months after purchase, and the direct drive extruder is failing. This printer has been mounting but a headache and Crealitys customer support is non-existent.

    This printer is fantastic!

This is our second 3D printer. The first, by a different company, did not work. We were so hesitant to try again, but I am so glad we did. This one worked correctly from day one. Our son has printed countless minis and has never had an issue. He really enjoys it and has even learned to design his own things. He made several Christmas presents as well. Currently he is using just white filament and hand-painting everything. Thank you!

Wish I could give a 0 or -star

My friends Ender V2 performs better than this by far.First had an issue with filament not coming out. it got clogged even at the right temp it still got cloged. Fast forward 2 days got it printing then got 2 good prints out of it. Now nothing sticks to the build plate. so I have wasted tons of filament, idk how much time trying out level, multiple youtube searches saying Z offset but even that dont change it or help. Ordered a new build plate since its only $12. If that dont fix it then it will be getting sent back.Edit: June 7th- After multiple youtube videos, Google searches, tuning with the slicer settings it still is not working properly and the fan already sounds bad. Wasted almost a whole roll of filament with no success and even a new print bed didn’t help.Last update before I return this junk. I did not have this printer longer with all the issues and now I am pretty positive the heat bed is failing. Never messed with temps but went to test a print and accidentally touch the bed after preheat which PLA goes to 60 yet it did not burn or even feel warm. Paused the point and nothing happened it just stopped. Had to hit the power switch.

The piece under the bed warps and then hits off of screws

No se pudo cargar el archivo multimedia.

I got this not 10 days ago and I’m returning it. While it was easy to setup and level and all that, I kind of noticed some odd issues within days. Then there was a slamming sound. It got worse with each print I did. Then finally, I could very visibly see that the bracket under the hot bed is bending…bad. Mind you, I’m 55, have no kids running around, and I’m the only one using this. I have not moved it and it’s on a VERY solid bench that probably 10 people could square dance on and it would not flex one bit. Today it can’t even be leveled (I should NOT have to do this every single time BTW) to use it. I am in a few groups and noticed others with this issue. I also noticed it is no longer available for purchase…sooooo, that’s a little indicator. This is all sad, because until that started happening, this was doing an amazing job for the money. I would have said that it was great for a beginner, but not with this issue!

Total Garbage Not Worth Modding To Fix It

I have been printing for a few years now and when i started in the hobby all machines were in kit form, Decided I wanted a new faster printer and bought this new ender 3, Sure it only took a few minute’s from box to desk and ready for the first print, This printer is just pure grade JUNK. It has horrible layer shift and I checked the belts and they are tight. It has shift on all three axis. This recycled piece of plastic that is being passed off as a printer is getting boxed back up and returned. I refuse to work on a brand new printer that is suppose to print out of the box.UPDATE: Found the problems with the layer shifting:1: Most of the bolts that hold the printer together was loose, that fixed the X and Y layer Shift.2: Gantry is of a poor design, Three sided extrusions and to top it off the tapped holes for the bolts are only half threads, the rest of the holes is open air nothing there. Very poor design on Creality factory for even producing something like that. Only way to sorta fix the wobbly gantry is making a strut system and taking off the spool from top and side mounting it. Personally It is not worth the effort or expense to fix a 200.00 dollar printer, Others out there in the same price range without all of this poor design.

What a great seller AND 3D printer!

If you are here then you already know that the Ender 3 V2 is a great choice for us beginners in the 3D printing rhelm. When you do your studying, be sure to look at videos from Dr. Vax over at the YouTube. You will find that there is really no comparison when it comes to 3D print quality at this price. I am 100% green when it comes to 3D printing but found that this printer was fairly easy to assemble as it is mostly done for you. I was up and printing in just a couple of hours. There was a small problem with my order. I reached out to the seller late in the day and to my surprise, I got a super quick response. We went back and forth on the issue in some email. In about 15 minutes we had come to an agreement and I was SUPER satisfied. It is hard and getting harder to find sellers that actually care about their customers. With so much of our purchases being made online it seems that the human factor and customer satisfaction is just fading away. This is NOT the case with this seller! If you are wanting this printer and you are worried about getting good customer service …. worry no more and go ahead with this seller. Did I say that the seller is wonderful yet? LOL! I hope you enjoy your printer as much as I am enjoying mine.

    Starter Plus Printer

I’d call this a starter plus printer. Great ease of operation, nice upgrades over the SE version of this printer, slicer is simple to use, and great prints right out of the box using Creality’s ultra matte PLA. This seems like it has a lot of room for my son to grow on skill before moving on to a more expensive printer

Great printer. Is my second printer. First one I actually enjoy so far. I am new to this and leveling the paper way etc was not working for me. Also all the upgrades needed to make my old printer work better was also not working for me. I guess being new at this does not help this matter. But this Ender 3v3se is great as it only took a couple of minutes putting together, set up language etc. and hit print and there it was. Have been printing a few things since with no adhesion or leveling issues so far. Just enjoy it.

    No Tech Support

So what do you think someone new to a 3-D printer is apt to need the most of? Right.. tech support! And while the company that makes this one touts that they have plenty it just isn’t true. What they have is spotty tech support in the middle of the night that they close at any time they wish and open any time they wish and if anyone gets the chance to read this I would say to you at Amazon that this aspect of a product like this is just as important as any other. If you publish this you would be doing users a great service. Now back to the review. The printer itself is not half bad. I has some bells and whistles that you might like and some are not present but the ones listed with it on the product page are certainly worth considering. Unfortunately I was not afforded the opportunity to test any since I was not able to make use of their tech support. If you buy one you may have a different experience. But one more warning before you buy this. Go on Google and type in the line «Is Creality Tech Support any good» and the most common answer you will see is «what tech support». Do that with a company such as Elegoo and you’ll get a different response.

    Round One Dead on Arrival

I conduct a bit of research before purchasing the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE 3D printer. Based on the information I found it seemed to be a good fit for a beginner. However, there is still a hefty learning curve.Out of the box the assembly was pretty straight forward even with the subpar directions in extremely small print. Upon initially turn it on and calibrating it all seemed good. Later after turning on the unit the display came on, but there was no information shown. Therefore, I have requested replacement unit from Amazon. I will update this after we receive the replacement printer.Though many reviews state this is a great 3D printer for beginners, this is not really true. This is not a plug and print an it. There is allot to learn about using the software to prepare the model for the printing process to include add supports to the drawing so the item does not fall over while printing. Additionally, the files found on the internet are in an STL file format and will need to be converted to gcode file format in order for the print to be able to actually print the object. Thus, you will need to become familiar with the particular software you want to use. Creality offers their software free of charge on the company’s website. Others have recommended the UltiMaker Cura software. No matter which one you choice to use, again you are not just going to open the program and start printing…there is allot to learn.I suggest using Rumble or YouTube to educate yourself on the particular software program you want to use. Also, watch some on general 3D printing so you can put this printer to good use.

    Perfect for beginners

The Creality Ender 3 V3 SE stands out as an excellent choice for beginners venturing into 3D printing. Its autoleveling feature simplifies the setup process, while the user-friendly Creality slicer software enhances navigation and usability. Despite being a novice in 3D printing, I found it easy to dive into the world of creation with this printer. However, I do wish there were more comprehensive explanations for settings and software usage, but I’ve managed to address this by seeking guidance from the Reddit community. Moreover, the printer’s compact size and quiet operation make it an ideal fit for limited spaces and noise-sensitive environments. Overall, this printer is perfect for individuals starting out with zero prior knowledge or experience in 3D printing.

    Very Nice 3D Printer

We’ve had this about a month now and it seems to work pretty well. There’s a little assembly at the beginning, thoroughly explained by the instructions. There’s a little learning curve on how to find, download and process images. Anyone familiar with drafting software will have no trouble. Just know that it’s the .gcode file that actually prints. Also, I love the unlimited possibilities with the various models that people have created and uploaded, and you can design your own. Maybe I’m still new at this, but at the moment, I don’t see the need for all the fancy add ons, as this worked right out of the box with 1.75 mm PLA. Temperature parameters sometimes need to be tweaked, but it mostly comes down to keeping the plate clean.

Pretty cool once you learn how to use it

It was easy to put together but there are no instructions on how to work the software and then when we finally figured it out it messed up the item we were printing and just started pushing it around on the board instead of finishing it out. We then finally figured out how to print with supports and we got much better quality prints.

    My first printer

I have always wanted to buy a 3d printer and finally did it… Almost a month printing stuff and it is doing an amazing job. Totally recommend for beginnersUpdate: Almost 2 months and it stopped working, customer Service is quite slow… I’m buying some replacement parts and hope it starts working again.Update2: It seems getting original replacement parts it’s imposible and if you want to get fix anything you would have to return the whole product, in my case i am not from USA or a big country so it is a pain… I will trying fixing it my self with chinese parts and see how it goes however for a 210 + 140$(Shipping) I don’t find this product that good anymore, i will buy a mid range printer this time from another brand and compare the quality of both of them. Depending on how it goes i might update this review.Veridict:So if you live in USA i guess this could be a good printer since you could get a better Service. In my case it was a good printer for ~45 days (I tried to give it as much maintenance as I could) but it failed and customer Service solution was to return the whole product (it would take 7-30days). I don’t discard I might have done something wrong but I will find out how good this printer really was by comparing it to another brand. Just to mention it a week ago the SD card that comes with the printer failed as well.

    Not the best quality

I purchased this printer as my first experience into the 3D printing world. I have to say that I am somewhat disappointed. While the printer was easy to set up, it’s not so easy to dial in the quality of the prints. It seems to be inconsistent in that department. Although this was my first 3D printer, I am not new to CAD, CNC’s and Cricut Makers. I tried countless times to tweak the machine to improve the quality without any real lasting success. I finally went and purchased a Baubu A1. While the assembly was somewhat more complicated, what a difference in quality right out of the box! I wound up giving the Creality to my Son.

It’s got it where it counts

Read the reviews and take some of them with a grain of salt. I read a whole lot of them before buying. My printer arrived in time, actually a couple days before the projected date. Out of the box, all contents were present! Nothing missing. It comes with a free 200g spool of White PLA which was awesome.Setup: there are directions, yes. Honestly, I found watching YouTube videos of CR-10s made for setting up, much easier. They are easy to find and are pretty informative. It took me a while to set up this otherwise easy printer, because I wanted to be cautious. If you live in the US, the voltage is the lower setting, by the way. It’s the onlything the directions really didn’t mention. You’re given all tools needed, and you’ll use them :)I’m a nervous person always wondering if I’ll mess something up, and my first print was a huge success. One video said not to add adhesive to the glass, but instead just wash the glass with soap and water first, dry, and set heat Ed for 60 degrees. I did that, and the PLA stuck just fine! When first feeding your PLA into the printer, make sure you push the PLA through and keep pushing until it goes all the way down to the nozzle. You’ll know you got it when the nozzle is heated and expelling a little of the PLA.I used the SD card provided. I downloaded Cura, and watched a couple videos on how to navigate the program. After using that and putting the downloaded program onto the SD, I popped the SD into the printer and hit print from SD, selected the file, and the rest was pretty easy. More or less sit back and watched.Oh! Please make sure you level your bed, before printing. There is a auto level feature on the printer, but you’ll still do the dirty work. Just twist the nobs under the bed, until there’s a sheet of paper width between the bed and the nozzle of the printer. You’ll do it five times as it goes around the board.I’ve never printed in my life, and was so thrilled to have a first success. Issues will come, but anyone is capable!

The first machine had to be shipped back. I got a refund and ordered a new one. Shipping was quick! We unpacked this one and it works! It’s a lot of fun! Now, be prepared to do some research online and watch some videos. Machine comes with instructions to assemble but not to operate. This is not a device you plug in and play. It takes a few different online tools to run but once you learn the process, you’ll enjoy the finished products.

Easy start up. Issues later on.

Easy to assemble and get started printing. When working correctly it’s been a great machine. However, I’ve had it for just over 3 months now and have started having several issues, with a new one starting last night which prompted this review. I’ve had to replace the hot end and the pcba board with official Creality parts, and now the probe doesn’t seem to be working correctly and I keep getting crashes in the z axis into the bed. Of course this all happened after the warranty and return periods were up, otherwise I would send it back. If you enjoy tinkering and doing a lot of research, this is great. If you want to just be able to reliably print without a ton of time spent tinkering, I’d look somewhere else.

    Excellent. Plug and play, basically.

Excellent in every aspect. From the packaging, to the instructions and tools included, to the set-up and use. Years ago I got the chance to use an Ender 3 V1, and the printing quality and ease to use has improved A LOT. Specially with the self-leveling tool (in the past, you would have to manually level the bed and now it does it automatically). The only thing to took in consideration is that you must have a 3D design software (printer doesn’t include one). Creality only provides the slicing software, which I don’t recommend because it had a lot of bugs (or at least it didn’t work properly on my pc). But the printer works great with available open source slicing softwares like cura.

very much improved over 2020 model

EASY, 15 minute setup out of the box , auto level is a game changer. I would have dreamed of this 4 years ago. this is a must have if your are going to include TPU in your print narrative. I printed wood PLA in the set up, worked perfect.

I would give this a 5 star , but first print went awesome till it had to be removed from the plate .. it was impossible to remove.. we put in freezer to cool plate down nope didnt work, flex plate awesome cause you bend and it pops off NOPE.. it was so attached that the coating on the bed came off with the print …. something needs to be done with the build plate

    Amazing beginner printer

Easy to set up. Never used a 3d printer. This was so simple. I made the project on the SD card and I was impressed. I did purchase a pei replacement table pad. I saw videos that said there was a problem with projects sticking too well. I actually had to turn the temp up about 5 degrees to keep it from unsticking. Either way I’m very pleased my purchase. The software has a learning curve and comes with a pdf software manual. I’ve made several projects and am loving the outcomes. I’ve had fails but I’m learning from them too. PLA is relatively inexpensive compared to my other hobby’s. So fails are good! The free files are almost endless. They don’t all work as you’ll find out but many do and are impressive. If you’re looking for an easy hobby this is your machine. Purchased to make jigs for my fiber laser. I just can’t stop making other stuff. Soon!

Keeps coming up with new problems

I just got this print about a week ago and have been «trying» to make prints with it. I was able to print a benchy and some sculpts off of blender, but then that’s when the problems started coming. The bed had a dip and I was able to fix it with tape to level it out, the power plug is so loose that it keeps stopping mid print and something forgetting what progress was made, and now the motor won’t extrude the filament even after cleaning the nozzle. So be aware of if your going to be getting this printer, I is not beginner friendly and you’ll have to do more work to get it working right.

Decent printer but it makes you work

This printer can make some really nice stuff and is very easy to use… However the auto bed leveling feature is not very good in my experience. It takes a lot of messing with the z offset and manually leveling the bed after you get the gantry level to actually get it going. If you are willing to deal with that part it’s a very solid printer. I personally would not buy again because getting everything level is a bit of a headache.

    upgrading from Ender 3 Pro

The old Ender 3 Pro was worn out. Replace it with the Ender 3 V3 SE. 3-4 times faster and whisper quiet. Glad I upgraded.

Effortless 3D Printing: A Game-Changing Printer for Beginners

If you’ve ever wanted to venture into 3D printing without the hassle of building and configuring, look no further. Within just 15 minutes of assembly—no prior experience required—I was already printing my first ‘Benchy’.This printer is incredibly user-friendly. It self-levels, adjusts, and gets you printing with minimal effort and time. The quality of prints is impressive, with a wide range of options for PLA materials, allowing for flexibility in speed and quality. I’ve got mine set up with a Raspberry Pi4 running ‘OctoPrint’, enabling remote print management and monitoring. Plus, with the addition of a Kasa smart plug, I can even turn the printer on remotely.Overall, it’s an outstanding unit, especially considering the price. Perfect for beginners looking to dive into 3D printing. The packaging was solid, and the instructions, along with helpful videos, ensure a smooth setup process. Highly recommended!

Good for 1st year architecture students

I was recommended to get a printer by my professor but didn’t want to drop $600 on one. This printer is perfect for beginners or first year architecture students. It only took an hour to build and set up and the instructors were step by step. The only issue is sometimes you have to auto-level it before every print, otherwise it doesn’t stick to the plate. I was able to print my entire project, and other peoples project well enough. It doesn’t tell you how long it will take to print until the print is well underway which is annoying and there aren’t any options for infill or support on the program. However if you aren’t super picky and just want a basic printer, highly recommend. It came with clippers, test filliment, an SD card, and a USB.

    Great printer for beginners.

Easy assembly, had it up and printing in less than an hour. I shopped for a while to find a beginner freindly, quick setup unit and this one has met and exceeded my expectations. The only complaint is probably self induced but I have had a spot delaminate on the print surface sheet from either too much adhesion of the print to the sheet, or my inexperience of removal. Replacement surface sheets were an easy find for a replacement though.

    Easy to build

No se pudo cargar el archivo multimedia.

This is a decent 3d printer for beginners like myself. It took maybe 30 minutes to assemble which I love. It’s also not too bulky and fits on my desk perfectly. I had so much trouble connecting the printer to my computer and then I realized the printer requires another part to have wifi. After an hour of googling I got it set up with a USB C cable and used Cura software instead and it runs wonderfully. It was easy to use after that and my first print turned out decent. I wish it came with more filament to at least test out instead of a very small roll of plain white. I also wish it came with a removal tool to pry off your prints afterwards. I ended up using a kitchen knife but will invest in a proper tool to limit damaging the printer board.

    Easy and amazing!

This 3d printer was easy to build. It took all of 10 minutes to unpack and tighten about 12 screws. A few plugs were put into place after that. Once that was completed we turned it and the autoleveling system went into action. I definitely recommend autoleveling feature as opposed to manually doing this as in some of the other 3d printers out there. We created the boat, cat and mouse quickly. These are about 3 inches tall and took an average of an hour to create. This was a Christmas gift for my son and it was a huge hit for both of us and the rest of our family too. We are beginners at 3d printing but the ease of this printer was nice and it did everything to perfection. It’s mesmerizing to just watch it print. Trust me! Hours of fun with unlimited possibilities! So thankful I purchased this model after lots of research and review reading. Looking forward to many more builds to come.

    Ok I guess.

It worked fine for the first like 3-4 days. Then it just didn’t print correctly it took me some time to find out the problems and fix them but the problem was that the prints weren’t sticking to the build plate. I never touched it with my hands it just didn’t stick. So I got a glue stick so I wouldn’t need a new build plate. But then I talked to support and they got me a new plate. It worked fine since then but I haven’t figured out the stringing yet.

    Beginner do-it-all printer

I waited for quite some time to jump into 3d printing, since I didn’t want to tinker with it much. And this printer is just what every review on the internet says it is – a cheap all-rounder that can get you printing with practically no hassle. For $10 you get a filament runout sensor for it, and until the point you need a bigger better animal with colors etc – this thing does it all just fine. Some tinkering is still needed, but that’s mainly because the materials aren’t uniform and equally good, and the printer needs to compensate. With good materials this this has done multi-hour and even multi-day jobs in fire-and-forget mode just fine. At anything below 90% the fan is quiet enough not to disturb you. I’m happy.

    Well done!

I purchased an Elegoo at the same time. Both well designed and both went together very easily. I ran both at the same time with the same 3d model. Both finished within minutes of each other. The resolution was a little better on the Elegoo. The user interface on the Elegoo in my opinion is a little easier to use. The magnetic sheet on the Elegoo, in my opinion looks like it would be more durable. I have been using 3D printers for many years. I purchased the latest versions of both to determine which one would be better for my grandchildren. I gave the what I considered the better one, the Elegoo and kept the Creality. The Creality is a nice unit, in my opinion, I just think the Elegoo engineers just did a little better engineering job.
